Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), formed in Birmingham, England in 1970, is a rock group known for its innovative fusion of rock and classical music. The band was created by songwriters/multi-instrumentalists Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood, along with drummer Bev Bevan. Their distinctive sound, characterized by a seamless blend of orchestral strings, synthesizers, and catchy pop-rock elements, made them one of the most popular groups of the 1970s and 1980s.
