Flamenco is the soul music of Andalusia and Spain. Like the history of Spain, it is complex and entangled; a form of music with many influences where the soul of Spain is expressed in rhythm, melody, singing/narration and dance. Flamenco is understood by some as an artistic expression where North and West African, Arabic, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean, Indian and Latin American musical heritages are intertwined and distilled into their bare and shared essences.
