Young the Giant is an American rock band that formed in Irvine, California, in 2004. Originally known as The Jakes, the band's lineup consists of Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass guitar), and Francois Comtois (drums). They gained mainstream recognition with their self-titled debut album, "Young the Giant," which was released in 2010. The album contained the hit singles "My Body" and "Cough Syrup," both of which achieved significant airplay and were instrumental in propelling the band to prominence. Following their successful debut, Young the Giant continued to build on their momentum with the release of their second album, "Mind Over Matter," in 2014. This album also received positive reviews and included tracks that showcased the band's evolving sound. In 2018, they released "Mirror Master," further solidifying their place in the alternative rock scene with introspective lyrics and catchy melodies. Throughout their career, Young the Giant has been known for their energetic live performances and has participated in numerous tours and music festivals around the world.
