Withering Surface is a Danish melodic death metal band that was formed in 1994. Throughout their career, they have been known for blending Scandinavian death metal with a melodic approach, which has earned them a following within the metal community. The band released several albums, including "Scarlet Silhouettes" (1997), "The Nude Ballet" (1998), "Walking on Phantom Ice" (2001), "Force the Pace" (2004), and "Meet Your Maker" (2020). After initially disbanding in 2005, Withering Surface reunited in 2019 and subsequently released "Meet Your Maker," marking their return to the metal scene after a 15-year hiatus. Their music is characterized by aggressive guitar riffs, fast-paced drumming, and a mix of growled and clean vocals. Withering Surface has contributed to the evolution of the melodic death metal genre and has maintained a presence in the European metal circuit.
