Timo Tolkki's Avalon is a metal opera project created by Finnish guitarist, songwriter, and producer Timo Tolkki, best known for his work with the power metal band Stratovarius. After parting ways with Stratovarius, Tolkki embarked on various musical projects, one of which is Avalon. The project features a rotating cast of guest musicians and vocalists from the metal community. Timo Tolkki's Avalon released its debut album "The Land of New Hope" in 2013, which was followed by "Angels of the Apocalypse" in 2014. Both albums are concept albums and feature a symphonic power metal style with strong narratives. The project is known for its epic compositions, intricate guitar work, and grandiose storytelling, continuing Tolkki's legacy as a prominent figure in the power metal genre.
