They Might Be Giants (often abbreviated as TMBG) is an American alternative rock band formed in 1982 by John Flansburgh and John Linnell. The band is known for their eclectic style, which draws from pop, punk, and experimental music, as well as their cerebral lyrics and innovative use of multimedia. They gained popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with albums like "Lincoln" (1988) and "Flood" (1990), the latter of which featured the hit single "Birdhouse in Your Soul." They continued to release albums throughout the 1990s, including "Apollo 18" (1992), which is notable for its "Fingertips" suite—a series of short songs that showcase the band's quirky approach to music.
