The Spartan Dreggs is a musical project led by Billy Childish, a prolific and influential figure in the underground music and art scene. Billy Childish, whose real name is Steven John Hamper, is an English artist, writer, and musician known for his explicit commitment to DIY ethics. He has been involved in numerous musical projects over the years, including The Pop Rivets, The Milkshakes, and Thee Headcoats. The Spartan Dreggs represents one of his later musical endeavors, continuing his tradition of raw, garage rock-inspired music. Childish's work with The Spartan Dreggs maintains his characteristic lo-fi sound and often features poetic and introspective lyrics.
