Jamaican Reggae Vocal Group

The Silvertones, also known as The Muskyteers, are a Jamaican reggae harmony group that achieved recognition in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Formed in 1964, the group originally consisted of members Delroy Denton, Keith Coley, and Gilmore Grant. They were discovered by producer Duke Reid and went on to record for various producers including Lee "Scratch" Perry. Their work with Perry led to the creation of their well-known album "Silver Bullets," released in 1973 under the UK label Trojan Records. The album features a mix of original songs and covers and is noted for its soulful harmonies and rocksteady rhythms. Throughout their career, The Silvertones have seen lineup changes and periods of inactivity but have continued to perform and record into the 21st century, contributing to the legacy of classic Jamaican music.
