The Fabulous Thunderbirds

The Fabulous Thunderbirds

Texas Blues-Rock Legends

The Fabulous Thunderbirds are an American blues rock band that was formed in Austin, Texas, in 1974. The group's founding members included frontman and harmonica player Kim Wilson and guitarist Jimmie Vaughan, the older brother of blues guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan. The band is known for its energetic blend of blues and rock music, which they showcased on a series of albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s. They achieved mainstream success with their 1986 album "Tuff Enuff," which featured the hit single of the same name. Although "Butt Rockin'," "T-Bird Rhythm," and "What's The Word" are among their earlier works, it was the commercial breakthrough of "Tuff Enuff" that brought them to a wider audience. Over the years, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have undergone several lineup changes but have continued to tour and record new music, maintaining their status as a staple act in the blues rock scene.
