The Dead Milkmen are an American punk rock band formed in 1983 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group is known for their satirical and irreverent lyrics, as well as their catchy punk melodies. The original lineup consisted of Joe Genaro (also known as Joe Jack Talcum) on vocals and guitar, Dave Schulthise (also known as Dave Blood) on bass, Rodney Linderman (also known as Rodney Anonymous) on vocals and keyboards, and Dean Sabatino (also known as Dean Clean) on drums. They gained an underground following with their debut album "Big Lizard in My Backyard" in 1985 and continued to build their reputation with subsequent releases. The Dead Milkmen's style often poked fun at the seriousness of other punk bands and tackled a wide array of subjects with humor and sarcasm. They disbanded in 1995 but have since reunited and continue to perform and release new music. Their influence can be seen in the work of later punk and alternative acts who appreciate the blend of humor and social commentary in music.
