International Classical Crossover Vocal Trio

The Three Tenors were a famous operatic singing group during the 1990s and early 2000s, consisting of the Spanish singers Plácido Domingo and José Carreras, and the Italian singer Luciano Pavarotti. The trio first came together for a concert at the ancient Baths of Caracalla in Rome, Italy, on July 7, 1990, on the eve of the FIFA World Cup Final. The event was intended as a one-time affair, but the success was so overwhelming that it led to subsequent performances and world tours. Their combination of operatic classics and popular tunes sung in a grand style appealed to a wide audience, significantly expanding the reach of opera as a genre.
