Spinning Coin is a Scottish indie rock band formed in Glasgow around 2014. The group quickly gained attention within the indie music scene for their jangly, lo-fi sound that harks back to the DIY ethos of post-punk and the C86 aesthetic. Their debut album, "Permo," released in 2017, was well-received for its blend of melodic guitar work and introspective lyrics, showcasing the band's ability to balance raw energy with pop sensibilities. Following up with their sophomore album, "Hyacinth," in 2020, Spinning Coin continued to evolve their sound while maintaining the earnest, heartfelt approach that initially garnered them acclaim. The band has been associated with The Pastels' Stephen McRobbie through their work with his label, Geographic Music, a subsidiary of Domino Recording Company.
