Seu Jorge is a Brazilian musician, singer-songwriter, and actor known for his deep and soulful voice as well as his ability to blend genres such as samba, funk, and reggae into his music. He first gained national recognition in Brazil as a member of the band Farofa Carioca, but his solo career really took off with the release of his debut album "Samba Esporte Fino" in 2001, which was also released under the name "Carolina" in different markets. His international fame was further bolstered by his role in the 2004 Wes Anderson film "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," where he performed Portuguese acoustic cover versions of David Bowie songs, later compiled into the album "The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions." Seu Jorge's collaboration with the band Almaz resulted in the self-titled album "Seu Jorge and Almaz" in 2010, which featured a mix of covers and original work. Throughout his career, Seu Jorge has been celebrated for his contributions to contemporary Brazilian music and has become an influential figure both in Brazil and abroad.
