Icelandic Indie Folk Band

Seabear is an Icelandic indie-folk band originally started as a solo project by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sindri Már Sigfússon in the early 2000s. The project quickly evolved into a seven-member group with the addition of other musicians. Seabear's music is characterized by its delicate, folk-influenced melodies, lush instrumentation, and introspective lyrics. They gained international recognition with their debut album "The Ghost That Carried Us Away" in 2007, which showcased their talent for crafting atmospheric and emotive songs. Following the success of their first album, Seabear released "We Built A Fire" in 2010, further cementing their reputation within the indie music scene. After a significant hiatus, during which members pursued other projects, Seabear announced their return with the album "In Another Life," released in 2022. The band's gentle and evocative sound has earned them a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim within the indie folk genre.
