Rudy Ray Moore was an American comedian, musician, singer, film actor, and producer who is best known for his creation of the character Dolemite, the pimp from the 1975 film "Dolemite" and its sequels. Born on March 17, 1927, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Moore developed a unique style of comedy and entertainment that blended raunchy humor with rhythm and blues music. He began his career in entertainment as an R&B singer before transitioning to stand-up comedy.
