Return to Forever was a pioneering jazz fusion band formed in the early 1970s by keyboardist Chick Corea. The group is known for its complex musical structures and virtuosic musicianship, blending elements of jazz, rock, and Latin music. Over the years, Return to Forever underwent several lineup changes, with the most notable and celebrated configuration featuring Chick Corea on keyboards, Stanley Clarke on bass, Al Di Meola on guitar, and Lenny White on drums. This lineup was responsible for producing some of the band's most acclaimed albums, including "Where Have I Known You Before" (1974) and "Romantic Warrior" (1976), which are considered classics in the jazz fusion genre. The band's influence extended beyond jazz circles, impacting musicians across various genres with their technical proficiency and innovative compositions. After disbanding in the late 1970s, Return to Forever reunited for several tours and live recordings, including "The Mothership Returns," which captured performances from their 2011 reunion tour. Throughout their career, Return to Forever earned critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase, solidifying their place as one of the key groups in the development of jazz fusion.
