Pablo Ziegler is an Argentine composer and pianist, renowned for his contributions to the world of tango music. Born in Buenos Aires in 1944, Ziegler was classically trained at the Buenos Aires Music Conservatory before venturing into the realm of jazz and then tango. His career took a significant turn when he joined the quintet of the legendary Astor Piazzolla, the master of Nuevo Tango, in 1978. As a member of Piazzolla's ensemble for over a decade, Ziegler played a key role in the evolution and international spread of this innovative tango style that fused traditional Argentine tango with elements of jazz and classical music.
