Nino Sanzogno

Nino Sanzogno

Italian Conductor and Composer

Nino Sanzogno (1911–1983) was an Italian conductor and composer, recognized for his contributions to the world of opera and classical music. He served as the musical director at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and was also closely associated with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, an annual arts festival in Florence. Sanzogno was known for his interpretations of both traditional Italian operas and contemporary works. Throughout his career, he collaborated with various opera houses and orchestras, conducting a wide repertoire that included pieces by Verdi, Puccini, and other renowned composers. His work extended beyond the podium as he also composed his own music, though he is primarily celebrated for his conducting achievements.
