Nico Gomez And His Afro Percussion Inc. was a project led by Belgian musician and band leader Joseph Van Het Groenewoud, who was better known under his stage name Nico Gomez. Born in the Netherlands to a Dutch father and a Spanish mother, he moved to Belgium at a young age. Gomez was primarily active during the 1960s and 1970s, and he became known for his Latin-inspired music, which blended elements of Afro-Cuban rhythms with European musical sensibilities.
