Nan Goldin

Nan Goldin is not an artist, composer, or band known for producing albums titled "The Ballad of Sexual Dependency." Instead, Nan Goldin is a renowned American photographer. Born in 1953, Goldin is best known for her deeply personal and candid portraiture. Her work often explores LGBT bodies, moments of intimacy, the HIV crisis, and the opioid epidemic. One of her most famous works is a slideshow presentation titled "The Ballad of Sexual Dependency," which consists of almost 700 snapshot-like portraits that document the post-Stonewall gay subculture and Goldin's own life and friends. This work was first presented in 1985 and has been exhibited in various venues worldwide. It is also available as a book.
