Mellow Candle was an Irish progressive folk rock band formed in the late 1960s. The group is best known for their album "Swaddling Songs," released in 1972. The band's music was characterized by its intricate vocal harmonies and a blend of folk and progressive rock elements. Mellow Candle consisted of Clodagh Simonds (vocals, keyboards), Alison Williams (vocals), David Williams (guitar), Frank Boylan (bass), and William Murray (drums). Despite the critical acclaim for "Swaddling Songs," the album did not achieve commercial success at the time of its release, leading to the band's dissolution shortly thereafter. However, Mellow Candle has since gained a cult following, with "Swaddling Songs" being recognized as a classic of the progressive folk genre.
