Joyce DiDonato is an American mezzo-soprano renowned for her interpretations of opera and concert repertoire spanning from the Baroque era to contemporary works. Born on February 13, 1969, in Kansas, she has established herself as one of the finest singers of her generation. DiDonato studied at Wichita State University and later at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. She gained prominence after winning the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 1998 and has since performed on some of the world's most prestigious stages, including the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, and La Scala.
