Joseph Silverstein (1932–2015) was an American violinist and conductor renowned for his contributions to classical music. He served as the concertmaster of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for over two decades, from 1962 to 1984, and was also a respected soloist and chamber musician. Silverstein's tenure with the Boston Symphony Orchestra was marked by his exceptional musicianship and leadership, which helped shape the orchestra's sound during that period. In addition to his orchestral work, he was a founding member of the Boston Symphony Chamber Players in 1964, showcasing his versatility as a performer.
