UK Punk Rock Band

H.D.Q. is a British punk rock band that originated from Sunderland, England. The band was formed in the mid-1980s and is known for being one of the early UK bands to be influenced by the American hardcore punk scene. H.D.Q. stands for "How Doth the Little Crocodile Improve His Shining Tail," which is a line from Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." The group was led by vocalist Golly, who was also a prominent figure in the UK hardcore scene. H.D.Q. disbanded in the early 1990s but had a significant impact on the UK punk scene during their active years, influencing later generations of punk bands. Although they were not as widely known as some of their contemporaries, they maintained a dedicated following and are remembered for their energetic live performances and contributions to the hardcore punk genre.
