German Baritone and Bach Specialist

Gotthold Schwarz is a German bass-baritone and conductor, particularly known for his performances in Baroque music, especially the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. Born on May 2, 1952, in Zwickau, he has had a prolific career as both a singer and a conductor. Schwarz studied at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig and later became a member of the St. Thomas Choir of Leipzig, an institution with a rich tradition linked to Bach himself.
