American rock musician and Misfits founder

Glenn Danzig is an American singer, songwriter, and musician best known as the founder of the band Danzig. Before his success with Danzig, he was the frontman for the horror punk band the Misfits, which he founded in the late 1970s. The Misfits became cult icons, influencing a wide range of rock and heavy metal bands. After leaving the Misfits, Danzig formed Samhain, which eventually evolved into Danzig in 1987. His music with Danzig is known for its dark, gothic undertones and bluesy heavy metal sound. Glenn Danzig's baritone voice and darkly themed lyrics have become his trademark. Over the years, he has also ventured into other artistic endeavors including writing comic books and making films. His solo albums, such as "Black Aria" and "Black Aria II," showcase his interest in classical and orchestral music, diverging from his rock roots to create concept albums inspired by mythology and dark themes.
