German Electropop Duo

Glasperlenspiel is a German electropop duo formed in 2010, consisting of Carolin Niemczyk and Daniel Grunenberg. The name of the band is derived from the German title of Hermann Hesse's novel "The Glass Bead Game" ("Das Glasperlenspiel"). They gained significant attention in their home country after participating in the Bundesvision Song Contest in 2011 with their single "Echt," which helped them to establish a solid fan base. Following their initial success, Glasperlenspiel released several albums, including "Beweg Dich Mit Mir" (2011) and "Grenzenlos" (2013), which further cemented their presence in the German music scene. Their sound is characterized by catchy melodies, electronic beats, and thoughtful lyrics, often dealing with themes of love, self-reflection, and societal issues. Over the years, they have continued to evolve musically while maintaining a loyal following in the German-speaking world.
