Garou is a Canadian singer from Sherbrooke, Quebec, born as Pierre Garand on June 26, 1972. He began his career as a performer in the musical "Notre-Dame de Paris," where he played the role of Quasimodo and gained significant attention for his distinctive voice. Following his theatrical success, Garou embarked on a solo music career and released his debut album "Seul" in 2000, which became an instant hit, particularly in the Francophone world. The album's blend of pop and rock, along with the powerful ballad "Sous le vent," a duet with Celine Dion, helped establish him as a prominent figure in French music.
