Friendly Fires

Friendly Fires

British indie dance band

Friendly Fires is an English indie rock band formed in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England, in 2006. The band comprises Ed Macfarlane (vocals and synths), Edd Gibson (guitar), and Jack Savidge (drums). They are known for their dance-oriented sound that blends elements of disco, punk, and electronic music with indie rock sensibilities. Friendly Fires gained recognition with the release of their self-titled debut album "Friendly Fires" in 2008, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize and included hit singles such as "Paris" and "Jump in the Pool." The band's follow-up album, "Pala," came out in 2011 and continued to showcase their ability to produce catchy, upbeat tracks with a distinctive sound. After a hiatus, Friendly Fires returned with their third studio album, "Inflorescent," in 2019, which marked a comeback to the music scene after an eight-year break between albums. Throughout their career, Friendly Fires have been known for their energetic live performances and have played at numerous festivals and venues around the world.
