Francesco Gabbani is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician who first gained major recognition in 2016 when he won the Newcomer's section of the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Amen." He returned to the festival in 2017 and won the main competition with his catchy track "Occidentali's Karma," which became a viral hit, especially for its memorable dancing gorilla on stage during his performances. The song was also Italy's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, where Gabbani finished in sixth place.
