Arkansas-based Symphony Orchestra

The Fort Smith Symphony is an American orchestra based in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Established in 1923, it is one of the oldest orchestras in the state and has developed a reputation for its commitment to providing high-quality classical music to the Western Arkansas region. Under the direction of Music Director John Jeter since 1997, the symphony has expanded its repertoire and increased its community engagement. The orchestra is known for performing a mix of classical masterpieces, contemporary works, and educational concerts. While the Fort Smith Symphony may have recorded albums featuring works such as William Grant Still's "Afro-American Symphony," "In Memoriam," and "Africa (Symphonic Poem)," as well as other symphonies, their primary focus has been on live performances and community involvement rather than a discography-centric career.
