Europa Galante is an Italian baroque ensemble founded in 1990 by violinist and conductor Fabio Biondi, who sought to bring together a group of talented musicians with a passion for the baroque and classical repertoire. The ensemble quickly gained international acclaim for their vibrant and dynamic performances, as well as their scholarly approach to the interpretation of early music. Europa Galante's repertoire spans from the 17th to the 19th centuries, and they are particularly noted for their performances of Vivaldi's works. Their recordings have received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Diapason d'Or and Gramophone Awards. Europa Galante tours extensively, performing in major concert halls and at festivals around the world, contributing to the revival of interest in historically informed performance practice.
