Darshan Ambient, the pseudonym for Michael Allison, was an American composer and musician known for his ambient electronic music. His career spanned several decades, during which he produced a variety of albums that blended ambient textures with elements of electronica, world music, and jazz. Before his solo career as Darshan Ambient, Allison played bass with several bands in the 1980s, including Nona Hendryx & Zero Cool and Richard Hell & The Voidoids. As Darshan Ambient, he gained recognition in the ambient music scene for his melodic compositions and lush soundscapes. His work often featured on various compilations and was used in films, documentaries, and commercials. Michael Allison passed away in January 2020, leaving behind a legacy of influential ambient works that continue to resonate with listeners around the world.
