Friedrich Kuhlau was a German-Danish pianist and composer who lived from 1786 to 1832. He is particularly renowned for his flute compositions, earning him the nickname "the Beethoven of the flute" during his lifetime. Kuhlau's music is characterized by its classical style, with clear influences from contemporaries such as Beethoven, whom he admired greatly.
