British Alternative Rock Band

Chumbawamba was an English band that formed in 1982 and became known for their eclectic and anarchistic musical style. They initially emerged out of the punk rock scene and later incorporated influences from a variety of genres, including pop, folk, and world music. The band is perhaps best known for their 1997 hit single "Tubthumping," which achieved international success and brought them mainstream attention. Over the course of their career, Chumbawamba was also known for their political activism, often promoting social justice causes through their music and actions. Despite their brief period of commercial success, they remained a cult favorite due to their commitment to their principles and their experimental approach to music. The band announced its breakup in 2012 after three decades of making music together.
