Catatonia was a Welsh alternative rock band that gained popularity in the mid-1990s. The band was fronted by singer Cerys Matthews, who became known for her distinctive voice and charismatic presence. They achieved success with several hit singles in the UK, including "Mulder and Scully" and "Road Rage," which helped to propel their albums to commercial success. However, by the time they released "Paper Scissors Stone" in 2001, the band was facing internal struggles. Catatonia disbanded shortly after, with Cerys Matthews pursuing a solo career.
