Korean Animated Characters and Merchandise Brand

BT21 is not an artist, composer, or band, but rather a collection of characters created by the South Korean boy band BTS in collaboration with LINE FRIENDS, which is a global character brand. The BT21 characters were first introduced in 2017 and include eight different animated characters, each one designed by a member of BTS. These characters are Tata, Mang, Chimmy, RJ, Koya, Cooky, Shooky, and Van. They have become popular through a variety of merchandise and promotional content. While BTS has produced numerous albums and has had a highly successful music career since their debut in 2013, BT21 itself does not produce music or albums. Instead, BT21 is focused on character branding and merchandise.
