Arnold Schoenberg Chor

Arnold Schoenberg Chor

Austrian Chamber Choir

The Arnold Schoenberg Chor is an Austrian choir founded in 1972 by Erwin Ortner, who has been its artistic director ever since. Named after the influential composer Arnold Schoenberg, the choir is known for its wide-ranging repertoire that spans from Renaissance to contemporary music. The ensemble has gained international acclaim for its precise and expressive performances, often collaborating with renowned orchestras and conductors. While the choir has performed a variety of works, including those mentioned such as Verdi's "Messa Da Requiem," Brahms' "Ein Deutsches Requiem," and Beethoven's "Missa Solemnis," it is also recognized for its interpretation of music by its namesake, Arnold Schoenberg, and other composers of the Second Viennese School. The Arnold Schoenberg Chor has made numerous recordings and has received several awards for its contributions to choral music.
