Yes, ZZ Top have released greatest hits collections in the past, and yes, they've all been very solid, but now the band delivers not just the worst material, but the absolute worst. Okay, maybe the difference between the two is mainly that one is a single-disc compilation and the other is a two-disc compilation. Either way, they're both pretty damn bad... by which, of course, we mean pretty damn hard. Billy Gibbons, who along with Dusty Hill and Frank Beard formed the band in 1969, noted in the press release that accompanied the news of the release that he and his bandmates are "pleased that material that was originally released by three different labels over all these years is now housed under one 'roof' so to speak", calling it "kind of a big, bad family reunion on some level". Gibbons means, of course, that in addition to Warner Brothers' huge back catalogue, these collections also include their more recent albums on RCA and Universal. Whichever of the collections you choose, you always get the same first four songs to start: 'Gimme All Your Lovin'', 'Sharp Dressed Man', 'La Grange' and 'Tush', which is probably the most solid quartet you'll find from her catalogue. From here on out, however, their opinions diverge, so we'll provide you with a full track listing of both so you're properly informed, but let's reiterate that whichever one you choose, they're both bad.
