The year 2012 was a very successful year for U.D.O. and they celebrated it in a big way: with the release of the album "Celebrator", the live DVD/CD "Live In Sofia" and the re-release of the complete back catalogue - all indications are that the band around Udo Dirkschneider still has its finger on the pulse and that many fans are waiting for new songs from this legendary band. The wait is over, and U.D.O. are releasing another brand new studio album. It's called "Steelhammer" and it's one of the band's strongest works. A "return to the roots" and yet contemporary: biting metal guitars and a naturally earthy drum sound give the new songs a unique class. Metal Hammer review (5 out of 7 points): "(...) most of the songs have a surprisingly high punch and power, which you wouldn't expect from U.D.O. after their last few records." Metal. de (8 out of 10 points): "In conclusion, U. D.O. not only made the most of their briefly precarious situation, but also graced us with a proper hammer for once, plus the mega-catchy tune "Take My Medicine" unmistakably points out that such music should really be put on a medical certificate!" Transparent Man (10 out of 10): "'Steelhammer' I'll get as soon as it comes out and put it up there with 'Breaker', 'Balls to the wall', 'Restless and wild', 'Rev-Raptor', 'Animal House', 'Objection Overruled' and 'Mean Machine'!
