"The Gold Experience" was the first album Prince released under his unpronounceable pseudonym "Symbol". The LP was released at the height of the artist's fight against the music industry. Prince wrote the word "Slave" on his face and performed the lavish ballads "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" and "Gold" or the provocative single "Eye Hate U" in this form and was showered with critical praise for his album.
