They say, "All that glitters is not gold." That gold doesn't necessarily glitter was the basic idea that led Finnish singer Tarja Turunen to start working on her seventh solo album, "In The Raw". The music on the new album combines sophisticated and refined orchestration, choir and her classically trained voice with a raw, dark, heavy musical core. Three years after her last album "The Shadow Self" (2016), "In The Raw" presents Tarja and her beautiful voice once again in truly stunning form. In collaboration with her musicians and experienced producers, the idea was conceived to highlight this rawness and reflect the feelings that led Tarju to elaborate this theme in her music from the beginning. In the lyrics of the album, Tarja moves on a very deep personal level. She gives an even more open and honest view of herself than ever before.
