Simon & Garfunkel were the most successful duo of the 1960s. They were also the most successful duo of the 70s, 80s and 90s (as measured by record sales), although their paths have diverged since 1970. This was due to the LP tracks "Sound Of Silence", "The Graduate" and especially "Bridge Over Troubled Water", which still provide the duo with fantastic record sales today. Simon & Garfunkel were the most successful pop duo of the 60s and (in terms of record sales) also of the 70s, 80s and 90s, although their paths diverged as early as 1970. This is largely due to their first album "Bridge Over Troubled Water", a true masterpiece with worldwide hits "The Boxer" (#19), "Cecilia" (#2), "El Condor Pasa"(#1) and of course the title track (#3). In addition to the original album, the 40th Anniversary edition includes as a bonus CD the complete unreleased "Live 69" album, the only official album from the 69 tour - the last for another 35 years. 17 songs live, partly acoustic, partly with the full band. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" had already been recorded but not yet released, so some songs from it were already played live - before the release !
