180g vinyl with insert in a deluxe PVC sleeve - a first ever on vinyl! "Low Symphony", produced by PHILIP GLASS in the spring of 1992, is based on the album "Low" by DAVID BOWIE and BRIAN ENO, originally released in 1977. GLASS took three themes from the instrumental tracks on the original, combined them with his own material and used them as the basis for the three movements of "Low Symphony". The first part was taken from the song "Subterraneans", the second part from "Some Are" (which did not appear on BOWIE's original recording) and the third part from "Warszawa". The Low Symphony was performed by the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra with Dennis Russell Davies as principal conductor and Karen Kamensek as assistant. PHILIP GLASS was influenced by the ideas of BOWIE and ENO as they worked together on the "Low" album, which led to surprising musical results and a true collaboration between the music of the three masters.
