A limited reissue of 2017's "The Burning Spider". Parov Stelar, sparked by a creative fire, reveals new and unexpected facets of his music on "The Burning Spider", opening a new chapter in his sample-based sonic exploration across musical history. Much of what fans around the world have come to love and appreciate about Parov Stelar's unique sound remains, only the influences and references are once again newly blurred. Whereas on recent albums it was primarily references to swing that made Stelar a superstar of the genre on a global scale, he now hits new notes with blues and jazz elements and borrowings across the decades. In doing so, he repeatedly recalls his own musical history, and longtime fans will rediscover stylistic elements that have taken a back seat in recent years. But whereas previously Parov Stelar sampled vocals were wildly chopped and alienated, now he confidently places the names of the sound's donors alongside his own: Muddy Waters and Lightnin' Hopkins appear on the album, as does US Virgin Islands singer Anduze, with whom Stelar has worked before and who features prominently on The Burning Spider. And as a bonus, there are three "classic" tracks Parov Stelar with a good helping of swing.
