Mastodon about death and survival "Emperor Of Sand" is the title of Mastodon's new seventh studio album. The concept of the album is the story of a desert runner who was sentenced to death. The themes of death, survival and time are intertwined in all eleven songs of "Emperor Of Sand". Musically, the progressive metallers from Atlanta remain true to themselves. The quartet presented the first taste of the album at the beginning of 2017, with two songs "Sultan's Curse" and "Show Yourself". Troy Sanders (electric bass, vocals), Brent Hinds (guitar, vocals), Bill Kelliher (guitar) and Brann Dailor (drums, vocals) recorded "Emperor Of Sand" at The Quarry recording studio in Kennesaw, Georgia and mixed it at Hesons recording studio in Los Angeles. The band worked closely with producer Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Korn, Bob Dylan), who had already worked on the 2009 album "Crack the Skye". Mastodon added another highlight of their remarkable output in 2017 with the new album "Emperor Of Sand".
