In 2003, she took a stand against then US President Bush Jr. and the Iraq War on "American Life". But even the radio boycott couldn't stop singles like "Die Another Day" on their way to the top of the US sales charts. Two years later, not even a horse riding accident with a broken collarbone and ribs stopped the now 47-year-old Madonna from making a triumphant return to the clubs and discos of this world with "Confessions On A Dance Floor". The monster single "Hung Up" (featuring a sample of the Abba classic "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!"), which also received an "Echo" award, topped the charts in at least 41 countries. After being voted the third most influential person in the world by Forbes magazine, making her debut as a film director with "Filth And Wisdom" and being inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, Madonna worked exclusively with American producers on "Hard Candy" for the first time since 1994. Timbaland and Justin Timberlake provided the R'n'B feel and hip hop grooves. It was the first album that didn't even need to have her name on the cover to go to number one on the charts in at least 37 countries. "Hard Candy" was also her tenth number one album in Germany.
