"I decided early on in the process of creating this album that I wanted to create an organic and progressive alternative to CDs as well," says Lorde. "I wanted this jukebox-type product to be similar in size, shape and price to a retail CD, but with something different - a plastic-free box that contains lots of additional visual content, handwritten notes, exclusive photos and a download card. It's like buying a membership to a small club dedicated to developing the modern album." Record lovers, however, can look forward to the LP on black vinyl.
