It tells the story of his extraordinary journey to worldwide success: how, in 1969 at Woodstock, a humble petrol fitter became one of the greatest soul and blues singers of his generation thanks to an incredible performance ('With A Little Help From My Friends'). But the documentary also shows his constant battle with his inner demons and how he dealt with them. Many of Joe's interviews were used for this documentary, and his important companions also had their say. To round out the DVD, it also includes some of his best live performances. The DVD/bluray contains over 30 minutes of unaired additional material.
