The conclusion of the trilogy "Oxygene" His fans have been waiting for him for a long time: With "Oxygene 3", the French electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre concludes his famous "Oxygene" trilogy. Almost 40 years have passed since his first successful album "Oxygene (1-6)" in 1976, and another 20 years since the second part "Oxygene (7-13)" in 1997. For "Oxygene 3", which he called Parts 14 to 20, Jarre composed seven brand new songs. The 87-year-old musician has thus returned to his beginnings, to dark atmospheric sounds, to spacey sounds and also to minimalism. Jarre recorded his debut with only a few instruments and an eight-track tape recorder. There were only a few beats and drums. He kept this approach on "Oxygene 3", although he had of course much more technical possibilities at his disposal. The result is a forty-minute work that, like its two predecessors, works as a whole, i.e. it can be listened to from start to finish and experienced without a break. Of course, in addition to the new album, a compilation is also available which contains the entire trilogy on three CDs. The ultimate box set "Oxygene" also deserves special attention. It contains all three albums on CD and LP and a carefully designed book with rare photos and notes about the story of "Oxygene" in English. "Oxygene 3" is the perfect ending to a forty-year electronic journey that ultimately returns to its origins.
